Lessons Learned: Time is priceless and Priorities and determine how "Free" you can be with it.

 Time is precious and cannot be saved up and used when it is more convenient.. So wished it was possible to stop the clock and think for a few minutes, review plans and goals and then hit the start button again, unfortunately time is like sand in an hour glass and it runs non-stop.

 The Parable and Object lesson of the Jar with Rocks and Sand.
 http://www.appleseeds.org/Big-Rocks_Covey.htm

Jar = Life/Time
Rocks = Priorities and Obligations, appointments, wants, needs, etc..
Sand is just the moments that we use under utilized or that just pass that we don't HOLD onto or purposely control/schedule.

 Planning and evaluating options carefully are inve$tment$and will return higher yield than just reacting to the current trend or doing the first thing or all the things that come along promising benefits.
Priorities and goals are like safety bumpers, with the overload of information and possibilities there needs to be something to measure and sort things by, that is what priorities and principles do, they sort and qualify opportunities as in accordance with, or against your core values and the goals you have in mind.  Sometimes there is stress caused by the discourse or disagreement between goals and values and when you choose to stick to the course and uphold your central values, your priorities and goals all line up and the time flows freely over them better.

Stress is a sign to stop, look and listen to your heart! Where is your passion?  What is your purpose in doing what your doing?  What are your priorities?  5 minutes spent reviewing and evaluating an option can save weeks of stress on dissatisfaction due to missed goals or uncompleted tasks.

The magical grid is a great tool for this process, it helps put everything in perspective and if it does not fit in a box then it has to be formatted and sized until it can.  Sometimes the grid helps you see a task is really a long term project with prerequisite tasks that must be accounted for before the original task can be attempted.

Timing is a big piece of the puzzle, "All things are possible" IF THERE IS appropriate time allotted for the necessary steps to be taken.  You cannot travel 50 minutes in 10 and leave 5 minutes late and arrive early.  Setting an unrealistic goal can render all of the hard work that was completed useless, when it is not getting you closer to an goal that has a flawed action plan.  Don't Despair when you find you are not where you want to be, take a step back and look at how you got to where you are and how far off course you are,  see if you can find where things went wrong it is usually the timing, the action plan or the execution (did you follow the plan or adjust as you went along..changes take time and delay progress.. or lastly communication with others you are working with, a break down in any of this components leads to a break in the stride and in the progress toward the goal, fix the issue and you will be able to reach the goal.

If you need help hitting the STOP button and figuring out the Priorities and which ones can fit into your "Jar" (Datebook/Home/Office/ ect..)  call me and lets get you on the grid and able to fill your jar with all the right rocks and make a beautiful piece of art out of the scattered and chaotic or even the order yet unfulfilled way you manage your time now.
